Electrical Installation Condition Reports

On the 1st January 2012 the Periodic Inspection Report (PIR) was superseded by the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR). The main change has meant that the report is easier for homeowners and landlords to understand the findings of said report.

Every electrical installation deteriorates with use and time. Therefore, if the safety of users is not to be put at risk, it is important that every installation is periodically inspected and tested by a competent person. Indeed, it is recommended in BS 7671:2008 (Amendment No 1:2011) that every electrical installation is subjected to periodic inspection and testing.

The inspection and testing should be carried out at appropriate intervals in order to determine what, if anything, needs to be done to maintain the installation in a safe and serviceable condition.

The results of the inspection and testing will be clearly documented in our electrical inspection report. Appropriate recommendations will be made for any damage, deterioration and defects observed that may give rise to danger to be remedied, so that the installation may continue to be used in safety.

Inspection reports produced by CRH Electrical Solutions adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
